SCCS's Advocacy Guide

Advocacy on the federal level can be intimidating and overwhelming but only requires a basic understanding of the budget and bill cycles and more importantly, a willingness to express your passion about child survival. As SCCSers have worked with student organizing over the years, we have compiled some of our best practices in serving as student advocates. SCCS’s main methods of advocacy include phoning, faxing, writing, and meeting with elected officials, planning specific actions to raise public awareness and generating attention through media coverage of the issue of child survival.
